Since 1898, a family story
The Panizzari Farm was founded in the late 1800s from Grandpa Angelo’s love for wine. Over more than a century of history, Giovanni Battista, Angelo, and finally Davide Panizzari have carried on the tradition of producing high-quality DOC and IGP wines. Today, among the gentle hills of San Colombano, vineyards naturally blend with the landscape. Cantina Panizzari represents an authentic and innovative reality—an emblem of sincere and surprising wines that carry with them the values, aromas, and scents of the family’s ancient passion.
San Colombano DOC wines
The grape varieties we cultivate are primarily those of the traditional viticulture of our region, especially for red grapes. Contrary to trends in the wine world, we prefer to maintain historical roots. In fact, the majority of our production (about 65%) comes from the Barbera, Croatina, and Uva Rara varieties, typical of San Colombano DOC Rosso. For white grapes, the majority of production is covered by the native Verdea variety; the other varieties we use are Pinot Noir and Cabernet for red grapes, and Malvasia di Candia, Riesling, and Chardonnay for white grapes.

Our story

Foundation of the company
Angelo Panizzari, father of Giovanni Battista, founded the family-run business in what was then a wine cellar. The wines produced were sold only in bulk, and sales were primarily local.

After the war
After World War II, it was Giovanni Battista, the eldest of the six children, who took the reins of the company and led its progress. This marked the beginning of the expansion and improvement of the wine products.

Angelo Panizzari
In 1986, Angelo, the son, took over from his father Giovanni Battista, assuming full management of the winery. Sector studies were initiated for the continuous improvement of the product. In the following years, production was expanded, and the variety of wines offered grew, including the introduction of sparkling wines.

Panizzari grows
In 1992, after the purchase of new land, the winemaking department was strengthened with the acquisition of more modern equipment. A grape pressing facility was built, along with the purchase of a pneumatic press and fermenters.
1992

The Agriturismo and Educational Farm are established
In 2001, the barrel cellar was transformed into the current Agriturismo Panizzari, receiving the first agritourism license in the area from the Lombardy Region. Additionally, the Region issued the official certification for the Educational Farm, which remains the only one in the area for winemaking activities.
2001

Construction of a new temperature-controlled warehouse
Since 2003, the company has grown and equipped itself with a storage facility for agricultural machinery and a new wine storage warehouse to meet the increase in production. A few years later, a temperature-controlled warehouse was also created, particularly necessary for the development of the sparkling wine QuarantaLune Metodo Classico.

Davide, Giorgio and Angelica
In 2018, the company passed from Angelo to his sons Davide and Giorgio, becoming an agricultural limited company (srl), with Davide Panizzari as President of the Board of Directors and Giorgio as a Board Member. Angelica, the youngest sister, also began to take her first steps in the company.
